Benefits Specialist - 2nd Shift
Location: Pilgrim's Mount Pleasant Employment Type: Full-Time Pay: $19.55/hr
General Summary
We're looking for a detail-oriented, people-focused Benefits Specialist to join our HR team. In this role, you'll serve as a key resource for employees navigating benefit programs, ensuring they receive clear, accurate, and timely information. You'll support the administration of multiple benefit plans, assist with annual enrollment, and help deliver a positive employee experience and ensuring that employees feel informed of their benefits.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions, providing clear and empathetic guidance
Manage benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations in vendor systems
Conduct benefits orientations and support open enrollment activities
Audit benefits data for accuracy and compliance
Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues and ensure high-quality service
Assist with leave of absence administration (FMLA, state leaves, ADA accommodations, etc.)
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements
Support HR projects and process improvements related to benefits and employee experience
Qualifications
Must be bilingual
24 years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR role
Strong understanding of health and welfare plans, retirement plans, and relevant regulations (HIPAA, ACA, FMLA)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex information in a clear, friendly way
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Customer-service mindset and a collaborative approach
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with leave management systems
