Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site Sous Chef role located in Herndon, VA. The Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, including meal preparation, menu planning, food safety compliance, and inventory management. Daily tasks include supervising kitchen staff, ensuring consistent food quality, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency. The Sous Chef will also support the training and development of the culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences for residents and guests.
Qualifications
Proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary trends
Experience in menu planning, portion control, and inventory management
Strong leadership and team supervision skills, including training and motivating staff
Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene best practices
Excellent time management, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
Previous experience in a similar role within the healthcare or hospitality industry is a plus
