Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Our continuum of care encompasses prevention, mental health services, and foster care. What will you do as a Licensing and Training Specialist?
Recruit, train, and license foster parents; provide pre‑service training and assess candidates per state and agency policy.
Guide potential parents through licensing, submit required documentation to the state and agency, and maintain audit‑ready files.
Ensure ongoing compliance, provide quarterly supervision/assessment, and collaborate with the foster care coordinator to support placement stability.
Engage in public speaking and marketing to recruit families.
Schedule may require flexibility for evenings or weekends to meet with foster parents and support recruitment efforts.
Maintain high customer service, document requirements, and collaborate with team for safe placements.
What does this position offer?
Starting Pay Range: $45,000–$47,000 annually.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.
Minimum two years of relevant professional experience.
Valid driver’s license and meet credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards for South Carolina (Qualified Professional).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and strong written and oral communication skills.
Successful completion of drug screening and extensive background check.
