Safe Sitter® Program Instructor
St. Andrew's Parks and Playground is searching for a Safe Sitter® instructor for our summer camp program. The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching and empowering young adults and is excited to be part of a team that has enriched lives through parks, recreation, and wellness for over 80 years.
Responsibilities
Deliver Safe Sitter® program content to adolescents, ensuring engagement and knowledge acquisition.
Educate participants in babysitting responsibilities and life safety skills.
Provide instruction during Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑12:30 pm for two one‑week sessions on June 8‑12 and June 22‑26.
Attend mandatory pre‑camp training sessions (May 11‑29) and complete required activities.
Qualifications
Certified Safe Sitter® instructor or willingness to obtain certification before camp start.
Passion for caring for and developing youth ages 11‑14.
Experience in early education or related college majors is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly pay: $17.50 – $18.50 per hour.
Full family membership to the fitness center during the season.
Free uniform shirts.
Medical care membership available with low monthly premiums ($70).
Employment Details
Reports to Program Director. Position is seasonal, contingent upon successful completion of required pre‑employment screens, including background checks and employment eligibility verification. St. Andrew's Parish Parks and Playground Commission is an at‑will employer.
