Security Supervisor
Location: Abraxas Academy, 1000 Academy Dr., Morgantown, PA 1954
Salary: $65,000 Annually
Job Type: Full-time
Shift: Varied shifts including weekends
Minimum Education / Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and at least one year of work experience in residential treatment (preferred)
Associate’s degree or 60 college credit hours from an accredited college/university and at least three years’ work experience with children
Supervisory experience is also preferred

Security Supervisor Summary
Responsible for the overall operations of the central control room at one or more residential locations.
Responsibilities
Supervise monitoring of security cameras, alarms, and other surveillance systems to ensure safety and security.
Coordinate with supervisors, staff, and other personnel through communication systems to respond to incidents or emergencies.
Manage access control systems to regulate movement within the building and ensure only authorized individuals enter specific areas.
Develop and implement emergency response protocols and procedures, guiding staff during critical situations.
Oversee maintenance and functionality of security technology, including control panels, communication devices, and surveillance equipment.
Maintain detailed logs and records of activities in the central control room, documenting incidents, responses, and any irregularities.
Provide training to control staff on procedures, equipment usage, and emergency response protocols.
Ensure facility policies and procedures related to security and control are consistently followed by central control staff.
Collaborate with other managers, administrators, and department heads to ensure cohesive and effective overall facility operations.
Directly supervise control staff, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary matters.
Monitor the outer perimeter using cameras, sensors, and other surveillance equipment to detect unauthorized activity or security breaches.
Conduct regular patrols along the exterior of the facility to inspect fences, gates, and other barriers for signs of damage or attempted breaches.
Manage and control access points to the facility grounds, ensuring authorized personnel and vehicles enter and exit safely.
Inspect and maintain perimeter fencing to prevent escapes and enhance overall security.
Respond promptly to alarms, investigate the cause, and take appropriate action.
Maintain employee schedules that ensure adequate coverage for safety of clients and employees.
Develop and implement systems to organize and monitor work activities.
Conduct supervision conferences and performance evaluations with employees, document meetings, and provide feedback.
Schedule employee training to meet mandatory training requirements.
Demonstrate appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management (SCM) and provide effective supervision regarding its use.
Assist the Executive Director as needed.
Attend staff meetings and conferences.
Support the Youth Services philosophy, promote the Seven Key Principles of care.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and at least one year of work experience in residential treatment (preferred)
Associate’s degree or 60 college credit hours and at least three years’ work experience with children
Supervisory experience is also preferred
Ability to self‑start, work independently, and adhere to timelines with minimal assistance
At least 21 years of age
Pre‑employment background checks (criminal, federal, state, child abuse), physical exam, and drug screen
Valid driver’s license from employee’s state of residence
Ability to work with computers and necessary software typically used by the department
Ability to work non‑traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet clients’ and families’ needs
Required Skills
Maintain and abide by OSHA requirements and guidelines
Observe all fire, safety, personnel, agency, and HIPAA policies and procedures
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA
Complete and return all paperwork distributed by HR
Attend required trainings and meetings
Maintain a professional demeanor and exercise good professional judgment
Document time worked accurately

Computer Software Applications
Computer literacy in MS Office products; Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Physical Demands
