Position Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Weekender is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care to residents while supporting the clinical team during weekend shifts. This role plays a critical part in ensuring continuity of care, resident comfort, and a positive experience for residents and their families.
Schedule
This position is designed to provide consistent weekend coverage.
A typical schedule may include:
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, or
Saturday and Sunday (extended shifts)
Specific schedule to be determined based on campus needs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct resident care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance
Assist residents with meals, hydration, and activities of daily living (ADLs)
Monitor and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies and state regulations
Support a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
Respond to call lights and resident needs in a timely and respectful manner
Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members
Uphold and model the organization’s mission, vision, and values in daily interactions
Qualifications
Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Nebraska
Previous long-term care or healthcare experience preferred, but not required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable attendance, especially for weekend coverage
