Position Overview
The Department of Sciences & Mathematics invites applicants for a Lecturer (AY) position. The role will involve teaching undergraduate mathematics courses across the curriculum, including College Algebra, Statistics, and Calculus, and will be based in a full‑time or part‑time capacity. In addition to teaching, responsibilities include holding office hours, preparing course materials, grading student work, assessing learning outcomes, attending faculty meetings, and submitting final grades. Prior material for courses will be provided.

Position Responsibilities

Teach a variety of undergraduate mathematics courses such as College Algebra, Statistics, and Calculus.

Participate in coordination of gateway mathematics activities when applicable.

Attend all required faculty training sessions and faculty meetings directed by the Department Chair or Dean.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field.

Ability to teach a variety of undergraduate mathematics courses.

Willingness to participate in the coordination of the gateway mathematics program.

Desirable Qualifications

Ph.D. in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field.

Relevant teaching experience.

Experience serving underprepared students is preferred.

Demonstrated passion for teaching and service.

Knowledge of innovative and effective classroom teaching methods.

Salary Compensation
Salary is commensurate with education, qualifications, and experience. A full‑time unit load for a lecturer is 15 teaching units (WTUs), typically 4–5 courses. Monthly salary ranges for a full‑time Lecturer (AY) are $6,221 to $13,224. The hiring salary range for new full‑time lecturers is $6,221–$6,600 per month, prorated based on unit load.

Special Requirements

Physical and Environmental Conditions

Typical classroom and office environment in a two‑story building with elevator access.

Eligibility to Work

Proof of U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the United States within three days of hire date.

Background check (including criminal records check) required prior to employment.

Official documentation of degree, license, or certificates required upon hire.
