Role Description

This is a full-time on-site position in Le Mars, IA, as a High School Agriculture Teacher and Co FFA Advisor. It includes a 22 day extended contract for summer FFA activities. Extended contract days are paid at your daily rate. Responsibilities include designing and delivering engaging lesson plans related to agricultural education, incorporating hands‑on learning and real‑world applications. The role also involves mentoring students in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) program, facilitating student leadership and development opportunities, and supporting extracurricular agricultural events and activities. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, communicate effectively with parents and the community, and create an inclusive classroom environment that fosters student growth and success.
Qualifications

Strong skills in Lesson Planning and Teaching, with the ability to design engaging educational content relevant to agricultural studies.
Proficiency in subject matter areas such as Physics and Agriculture‑related disciplines.
Excellent Communication skills to effectively engage students, parents, and colleagues, and to promote collaboration and understanding.
Educational background in teaching or related disciplines, with a valid teaching license or certification as required by the state of Iowa.
Passion for mentoring students and supporting extracurricular activities, including FFA involvement and events.
Ability to foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes learning and growth for all students.
Experience or background in agriculture or agricultural education is highly desirable.
