
Agriculture Advisor (Part-time)

Position: Agriculture Advisor (Part-time) – 1500 hours within a 12‑month period, no benefits. Potential eligibility for educational assistance for BRCC classes and job‑related training and/or certifications.

Job Duties
Program Activities & Club Advising
Coordinate logistics, scheduling, and communication for program activities.
Organize and advise collegiate FFA activities to support local FFA chapter activities.
Industry & Community Partnerships
Build and maintain relationships with agricultural employers, industry groups, educational institutions, and community organizations.
Participate in Agriculture Advisory Board meetings.
Represent the organization at agriculture events, conferences, and networking functions.
Outreach & Marketing
Create outreach plans to promote agriculture careers and program opportunities.
Develop recruitment materials, social media content, and presentations tailored to students and industry partners.
Host workshops, information sessions, and community engagement events.
Reporting
Maintain accurate records of recruitment metrics, program participation, placements, and partnership engagement.
Budget & Grant Support
Assist with budgeting for program activities, recruitment efforts, and outreach initiatives.
Support grant proposal development and ensure ongoing compliance with grant requirements.
Track expenditures and align program operations with financial guidelines.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Qualifications
Understanding of agricultural industries, career opportunities, and trends.
Ability to advise student organizations and coordinate related events.
Strong organizational, record‑keeping, and multi‑tasking skills, with attention to detail.
Strong relationship‑building, networking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Public speaking and presentation skills for hosting workshops, information sessions, and community events.
Ability to create outreach strategies and develop related materials and presentations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace (Excel/Sheets, Word/Docs, presentations) and ability to easily learn new computer systems/applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Passion for agricultural education, workforce development, and student success.
Additional Considerations
Experience coordinating events, workshops, or educational programs.
Experience advising student organizations, clubs, or youth leadership programs (FFA, 4‑H, collegiate groups).
Experience building and maintaining partnerships with employers, industry groups, educational institutions, and community organizations.
Experience developing and implementing outreach or recruitment strategies.
Relevant experience, training, education, and/or experience.
