Maintenance Technical Lead – Automotive Industry
Toledo, Ohio | $35/hour | Contract-to-Hire
Ready to take the lead in a fast-paced, high-impact automotive environment? We’re looking for a hands‑on Maintenance Technical Lead who thrives on solving complex problems, leading technical teams, and driving operational excellence.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical expertise with leadership skills and a proactive, solutions‑driven mindset.
What You’ll Do
Lead, plan, and oversee maintenance and repair activities for automotive testing equipment, facilities, and building systems
Supervise and coordinate a small multi‑trade maintenance team to ensure safe and timely task completion
Troubleshoot automated systems and implement effective corrective actions
Develop and enhance preventive maintenance programs and strategies
Ensure compliance with environmental, health & safety standards and company policies
Manage inventory, procurement of parts/materials, and vendor coordination
Track and report key performance metrics (PM completion, overtime, etc.)
Maintain timekeeping records, scheduling, and workforce allocation
Serve as point of contact for external services (janitorial, waste management, etc.)
What You Bring
High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of industrial automation experience, plus project management experience
Proven leadership experience in maintenance or technical environments
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting
Flexibility to work any shift and overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement systems
Background in union environments
Six Sigma certification (Green Belt, Red X, or similar)
Experience with robotics, controls, welding, vision systems, conveyance systems, or paint processes
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
