
Website Technology Coordinator and Data Assistant (aHEO)

Position Details
Working under the guidance of the Senior Web Developer, the Website Technology Coordinator and Data Assistant will serve as part of the Web Team within the Office of Institutional Advancement, Communications, and External Relations, which is responsible for designing, building, reporting on, and maintaining the website for The City College of New York using full‑stack web development with the Drupal content management system – showcasing the College’s story to internal and external audiences. This role is expected to contribute technical solutions and implementation decisions within established standards and architecture.
Campus‑specific Responsibilities
Provide support for development, design, testing, reporting, technical documentation, and rollout of new web‑based customer services
Create, modify, and maintain HTML/CSS/JavaScript/PHP for Drupal and/or WordPress components/Paragraphs and page templates
Develop and maintain with HTML/CSS/JavaScript/Twig templates for Drupal paragraphs and page templates
Build pages within the existing content management system
Assist with building custom queries and taxonomies using both PHP/SQL code and a graphical user interface
Maintain and monitor development environments, including testing upgrades and patches under established workflows
Build, develop, and maintain effective relationships among internal and external audiences
Stay abreast of industry trends and all applicable technologies, design tools, and new languages
Participate in vendor and business meetings as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 2–4 years of professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
At least 3 years of experience in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and SQL
Experience working with Drupal and/or WordPress in a production environment, including Git‑based workflows and Composer
Strong writing skills with attention to detail, especially in explaining technical concepts to audiences (often novice)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to take initiative on projects (where appropriate) while also thinking and responding to the “big picture”
Knowledge of SEO coding best practices, WCAG 2.0 accessibility, and Google Analytics 4
Ability to develop web‑based data reports as a means of contributing to those who visually tell the story of City College
Ability to read and modify existing Twig templates and SCSS
CUNY Title Overview
Collaborates with internal and external personnel to develop multimedia concepts to communicate key messages
Creates content utilizing one or more types of media (e.g., photography, video, audio, and web technologies)
Coordinates pre‑production, production and post‑production activities
Designs, edits, and uploads content to internal and external sites and programs
Maintains archives, materials, and project documentation
Performs related duties as assigned
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $74,754 - $79,784. Salary commensurate with education and experience. CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC‑CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
