Position Overview
LHH Recruitment is seeking an experienced
Logistics Specialist
to support and manage domestic transportation operations with a strong focus on
drayage and over-the-road (OTR) trucking . This role will play a critical part in coordinating freight movement, maintaining carrier relationships, and ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery of goods. The position is
onsite in Clackamas, Oregon , with the opportunity to convert to a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage
drayage and OTR trucking movements , including scheduling pickups and deliveries
Serve as the primary point of contact for carriers, drivers, and internal stakeholders
Track shipments from origin to destination, proactively managing delays and exceptions
Negotiate rates and maintain strong relationships with trucking and drayage providers
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, port requirements, and company policies
Prepare, review, and maintain shipping documentation and load details
Monitor freight costs and support cost‑control and efficiency initiatives
Communicate shipment status updates clearly and consistently with internal teams and customers
Support continuous improvement efforts across logistics and transportation processes
Qualifications
5+ years of experience
in logistics, transportation, or supply chain, with a strong emphasis on
drayage and OTR trucking
High school diploma required;
Additional education or coursework in
supply chain, logistics, or transportation
preferred
Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, onsite environment
Proficiency with logistics systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office tools
