Job Function
The Production Scheduler is responsible for creating and maintaining the daily, weekly, and monthly production schedule to support on‑time delivery and efficient workflow. This role works closely with Production, Customer Service, and Supply Chain to ensure orders are prioritized correctly, materials are available, and any schedule changes are communicated clearly. This position requires hands‑on work on the production floor with supervisors and operators.
Responsibilities
Scheduling & Daily Coordination
Convert sales orders into an actionable production schedule.
Build and maintain daily and weekly schedules based on order priorities and capacity.
Use the ERP/MRP system to schedule production across one or more manufacturing cells.
Adjust schedules in response to machine downtime, order changes or material issues, and communicate updates promptly.
Order & Material Follow‑Up
Review upcoming orders to ensure materials are available.
Work with Purchasing and Warehouse on any material delays or shortages.
Monitor order progress and keep Production Supervisors and the Commercial team informed.
Cross‑Functional Communication
Partner with Customer Service to verify order dates, manage expedite requests, and communicate risks.
Participate in daily and weekly planning meetings across all shifts.
Administrative Tasks & Reporting
Enter schedule updates and work order information into the ERP system.
Maintain accurate records of schedule adjustments, order status and completion updates.
Support basic reporting, such as daily production output or schedule adherence.
Participate in daily GEMBA walks and shift‑change meetings.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma required; some college or administrative experience preferred.
1–2 years of scheduling or coordination experience (manufacturing preferred).
Experience in high‑volume or lean manufacturing environments is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Ability to work within ERP/MRP systems (training provided).
Clear communication skills with the ability to partner across functions.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic reporting tools.
Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
