Wastewater Treatment Technician

The Wastewater Treatment Technician is responsible for operating, monitoring, cleaning, and maintaining wastewater treatment equipment to ensure proper system performance and regulatory compliance. This role includes performing routine inspections, equipment cleaning, water testing, and maintaining accurate operational records.

Key Responsibilities
System Operation & Monitoring

Process wastewater and monitor system flow to ensure filtration systems are operating correctly.

Observe treatment equipment and filtration systems for proper performance.

Verify that wastewater processing procedures meet operational requirements.

Equipment Maintenance & Cleaning

Empty filter press plates and inspect filter cloths for damage or wear; replace as necessary.

Pressure wash filter press plates when required.

Clean and inspect the filter press for maintenance or repair needs.

Clean and wipe down the filter cake hopper.

Clean filter binding solution tanks and mixers.

Pressure wash inside the setting tanks.

Pressure wash inside the Aquamag tank.

Clean and maintain mixers used in treatment tanks.

Wipe down mixers used in treatment processes.

Facility Cleaning & Housekeeping

Clean floor areas using scrub brushes and pressure washers.

Maintain cleanliness in treatment areas and supply storage locations.

Ensure supplies are properly stocked and organized.

Inspect equipment for loose or damaged components.

Report maintenance repair needs to management.

Assist with preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability.

Water Testing & Documentation

Calibrate handheld pH probes.

Take pH readings and document results.

Complete daily wastewater logs and operational documentation.

Skills & Qualifications

High School Diploma

Must speak, write and read English.

Must pass forklift training and earn a forklift operating license.

Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting ability.

Ability to follow operational inspections and documentation.

Ability to work independently and complete scheduled tasks.

Strong attention to detail for inspections and documentation.
