
Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Primary Responsibilities
Coach and develop individuals to move steel effectively and safely in order to serve customers well.
Train and coach facility personnel to understand and comply with SPS policies and procedures.
Conduct or attend daily huddle meetings and weekly safety meetings.
Attend and participate in facility safety and management meetings.
Follow and enforce company safety policies and safe work practices at all times to ensure safety of self and others.
Additional Responsibilities
Oversee subordinates to ensure shift goals and quality expectations are consistently achieved.
Coordinate personnel schedules to ensure operational effectiveness.
Maintain accurate safety, production, tardiness, and attendance records within the appropriate software.
Ensure audit and material traceability procedures are being followed throughout the facility.
Work in a cooperative, productive, safe, team‑oriented manner with employees, truck drivers, management, and outside customers.
Review and develop recommendations to facility management to promote continual improvement of processes.
Physical & Work Requirements
Work in a yard or warehouse facility within OSHA guidelines; conditions may be heated and/or unheated, dusty, and noisy; steel‑toed boots required daily.
Time split between office environment and warehouse or yard.
Facility may be a multiple shift operation; must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule and could be on call at various times, including possible weekends and holidays.
Fast‑paced, moderately stressful, constantly changing day‑to‑day work environment.
Ability to stand, walk, or be mobile for up to eight hours per shift; capable of ascending and descending material handling equipment.
Ability to lift up to 51 pounds as needed; push, pull, or carry up to 51 pounds.
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts or chemicals.
Wear proper PPE at all times (as described in company policy).
May require operating company vehicles including overhead cranes, forklifts, yard trucks, etc.
Required Background, Competencies & Expertise
High school diploma or GED.
Proven experience in a warehouse environment.
Ability to effectively read and use a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer.
Ability to read and understand prints, documents, and drawings.
In‑depth understanding of SPS policies and procedures.
Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality procedures where applicable.
Detail‑oriented and excellent observational skills.
Strong computer, tablet, or mobile device skills.

Three or more years of demonstrated warehouse experience.
Steel experience preferred.
Experience as a supervisor or leadperson.
Proven ability to plan and execute short‑ and long‑term goals.
Proven experience in continuous improvement and/or quality management.
Learning agility.
