Senior Financial Coordinator (DOH/PHD #10111976)

Salary
$19.97 - $29.95 per hour ($41,527 - $62,291 annually). This position is Pay Band C4.

Responsibilities
Provides responsive and professional service to the Public Health Division and Center for Health Protection staff. Independently procures services and/or goods, processes payment vouchers, reconciles accounts, and offers financial support to field operations with accuracy and timeliness, using the NM Procurement Code. Closes the fiscal year by ensuring all invoices are paid in full and opens the new fiscal year by encumbering funds for day‑to‑day administrative functions. Multitasks across a fast‑paced environment, includes occasional use of state vehicles and maintenance of a current Defensive Driving Certificate. Performs administrative functions such as answering the telephone, filing, photocopying, and pre‑auditing incoming financial documents, routing them for approval. Audits and processes travel documentation and works under tight deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency plus one (1) year of experience in bill collection, bookkeeping, office administration, auditing, accounting, and/or finance.

Or combination of education from an accredited college/university in a related field and/or direct experience totaling one (1) year that may substitute for the required experience.

Broad experience with statewide financial system (SHARE) including requisitions, purchase orders, payment vouchers, monitoring warrants, monthly reconciliation, and travel reimbursements.

Knowledge of the NM Procurement Code, DFA Regulations, and internal Department of Health policies and protocols.

Employment Requirements

Valid driver's license.

Current Defensive Driving Course Certification from the State of New Mexico, or the ability to obtain it as a condition of continued employment.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to visual/video display terminals (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Requires sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and may involve prolonged standing, walking, stooping, bending, and lifting within a busy office environment.
