Job Description
Responsibilities and tasks for the role are described below.
Responsibilities
Prepare specified server nodes and/or chassis for decommissioning and perform other decommissioning-related tasks, as directed.
Breakfix Tickets: review ticket queue to assign and diagnose hardware-related faults for servers.
Diagnose HDD, DIMMs, PSUs, fans, NICs, etc. by reviewing ticket information and BMC/SEL/OS logs.
Network/power fault remediation, reseat/replace cables, NICs and PSU cables.
Follow parts request and RMA processes to acquire replacements, open Asset requests logging serial and parts numbers and applying appropriate ticket statuses.
Ticket hygiene: capture root cause, actions, parts and all pertinent diagnosis and remediation efforts in the ticket.
Install NVMe/SSD devices into specified server nodes and verify compatibility based on provided specifications.
Install NVMe/SSD devices into the appropriate slots within the server node and secure devices as per manufacturer guidelines.
Document installation with device serial numbers and update customer asset tracking system.
RDU Configuration and Troubleshooting: configure and troubleshoot Rack Distribution Units (RDUs) based on customer requirements.
POD/MBU Builds: unpacking, installing mounting rails, and installing ASW switches into specific server cabinets and RUs in each Pod as detailed in customer-provided documentation.
