Document Control Specialist

Overview
As a CPI Document Control Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining the ERP database. CPI has an immediate need for a Document Control Specialist in CPI’s Georgetown, Texas location. You will create and maintain records within the company’s database management software. This includes entering part numbers from engineering drawings, creating Bills of Material, coding part numbers, entering routers, incorporating ECO changes into BOMs, and estimating material requirements.

Responsibilities

Creates new Bills of Material (BOMs) and maintains existing BOMs on manufactured products.

Enters new part numbers into the Item Master and maintains codes and status of parts as required.

Coordinates with planning to ensure manufacturing location accuracy for orders.

Communicates closely with design engineering, manufacturing engineering and purchasing for new product and custom product development.

Works with Customer Service to update sales order information on new and/or modified part numbers after part setup is complete.

Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering on updating part manufacturing processes based on feedback from the Manufacturing Team.

Calculates standard and manufacturing costs and analyzes cost variances, investigating discrepancies.

Maintains and updates customer price lists in the ERP system.

Coordinates document changes with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams.

Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment or with ERP and BOM structure.

Use of database management software.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Good analytical and conceptual skills.

Attention to detail.

Ability to multi-task and utilize multiple resources at one time.

Continual improvement methods to increase organizational effectiveness and objectives fulfillment.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

Frequent sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping and crouching.

May have to lift up to 25 lbs.
