JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced TIG Welder who can weld a variety of materials, thicknesses and configurations, who will be capable of producing high-quality, precision welds and help enhance the productivity of our organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform TIG welding on a variety of materials to precise specifications, in compliance with written procedures to aerospace standards.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and welding symbols.
Follow detailed work instructions and job travelers to ensure compliance with customer and industry requirements.
Conduct in-process inspections and ensure quality standards are met.
Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, fitting, and tracking components, and perform proper job set ups.
Maintain welding equipment, tooling and workstation in clean, safe and good working order.
Collaborate with Quality Control, Engineering and Production teams to resolve technical issues.
Adhere to all company safety and quality procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent, technical training and TIG welding certification required.
4+ years of experience in TIG Welding, in an aerospace manufacturing or precision machining environment.
Experience working with aerospace alloys including Inconel, aluminum, stainless steel and titanium.
Proficiency in shop math, be able to accurately read operation sheets, blueprints and technical drawings.
Ability to pass welding certification to aerospace standards.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
Effective customer focused communication skills and teamwork mentality.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Primary duties will be on the shop floor, working in a manufacturing environment.
Must be able to stand/sit for extended periods of time while performing fine manual work.
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity in both hands.
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted, stand, squat, bend, twist, and reach often.
Exposure to various temperatures, noise and vibration from power equipment, dust, and fumes.
Demonstrated visual acuity and ability to satisfactorily pass annual eye exam.
Note: Candidates who are being considered for the position will be required to perform weld samples at interview.
