Machine Operator I - Copper
Location: Conyers, GA, 30013
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Summary: Tends and operates machines such as CNC copper tubing bender, T-Drill spun end machine, T-Drill hole pulling/hole drilling machine, CNC automatic chop saw. Shapes and bends metal tubes by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
Position workpiece against stops or align it.
Push a button or depress a pedal to activate the machine.
Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece.
Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to understand Copper/Steel types, gauges.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to read and understand a tape measure.
Basic understanding of machine operations.
Experience with crane or hoist operation.
