Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Machinist (2nd shift) professional looking for an opportunity to grow. Based in Stafford, Texas, you will have a strong understanding of machine tools and manufacturing processes. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
Fabricate fixtures, jigs, brackets, and other parts, including welding, grinding, tapping, forming, deburring, and inspection for conformance to requirements.
Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machines or controls as required to ensure quality or production; report all malfunctions to the immediate supervisor.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Set up and operate machine tools to achieve desired tolerances and finishes.
Measure and inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly, and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
Follow safety guidelines and procedures.
Collaborate with other team members to complete projects.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Assist with training others on equipment when necessary.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Three or more years of experience setting up and operating manual machines such as lathes and milling machines in a manufacturing setting.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
Knowledge of various machining techniques and tools.
Willingness to run multiple machines independently or in a team environment.
Strong analytical, mechanical, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to lift 40 lbs.
Proficiency in reading, understanding, and communicating in English at a level necessary to safely and effectively perform essential job duties, including:
Reading and interpreting work orders, safety instructions, machine manuals, and technical drawings written in English.
Understanding and following verbal and written safety communications.
Communicating with supervisors and team members regarding production needs, equipment issues, and safety concerns.
Completing required documentation, logs, and quality‑control records in English.
Preferred Qualifications
CNC set‑ups and operation experience.
Knowledge of programming and operating CNC machines.
Experience with precision measuring instruments.
Knowledge of Mazatrol or Fanuc controllers.
Experience with Toyoda, Hyundai, or Mazak machines.
Skill in reading drawings and specifications with an intermediate understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions.
Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines.
Adaptability to a changing work environment and ability to manage competing demands.
