Position Overview
PH Registered Nurse – full‑time, salaried position based in Statesboro, GA.

About the Organization
The Bulloch County Health Department is part of the Southeast Health District, providing public health services to 16 counties in Georgia.

Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols. Provides community health services in programs such as Women’s Health, Child Health, Adult Health, etc. to the general public. Assesses clients’ condition, develops plans of care, provides treatments, educates clients and refers them to agencies that can assist in meeting social and/or health needs. Records pertinent observations and responses to treatment. Adheres to protocols for vaccine administration and specimen collection, including patient identification, registration, preparation and administration of vaccine, COVID‑19 specimen collection (nasopharyngeal and/or pharyngeal swabs and/or venipuncture), labeling, requisitioning, and preparation of specimens for transport to the lab by courier. Ensures safety precautions, HIPAA requirements and data entry are accurate and acknowledged. Administers vaccinations during mass vaccination clinics or in the event of a declared emergency.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.

Completion of a PHN course within one (1) year of hire.

Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

One year of experience as a registered professional nurse.

Bilingual.

Other Information

Employees may use up to 30 minutes per workday for wellness activities.
