Position Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct, hands‑on care to residents under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This role supports residents’ physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs while maintaining comfort, safety, and adherence to individualized care plans in a respectful and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, feeding, and mobility
Measure and document vital signs and report changes in residents’ condition to nursing staff
Provide emotional support, reassurance, and companionship to residents
Promote resident independence while ensuring safety and dignity
Respond promptly to call lights and resident needs
Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment following infection control and safety guidelines
Accurately document care provided in accordance with facility policies and CMS requirements
Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated, high‑quality care
Uphold resident rights and comply with state regulations and facility standards
Qualifications
Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in good standing (state‑required)
Prior experience in a skilled nursing or long‑term care environment preferred
Memory care experience preferred
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
Compassionate, dependable, and team‑oriented
Physical ability to stand for extended periods and assist residents weighing up to 60 pounds
