Job Summary
32‑hour days, 4×8‑hour shifts (7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.) every other weekend and rotating holidays. Under the direction of a registered/licensed nurse (RN), member of an interdisciplinary health‑care team assisting in clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate patient‑care environment. Position requires patient care.
Essential Functions
Perform patient‑care related duties and clinical functions assigned, including performing and documenting point‑of‑care assessments, vital signs, EKGs, bathing, sanitation, transferring, ambulation, and feeding.
Assist RNs and physicians with exams and treatments as required.
Ensure patient rooms are stocked, equipped, and cleaned appropriately based on needs and patient volumes.
Perform specimen collection and document all necessary information.
Retrieve equipment from other areas, set up, clean between patient use, and report malfunctioning equipment per policy.
Document patient information—height, weight, intake of fluids and food, output of urine/stool/vomit/other drainage, blood glucose results.
Assist patients with food tray setup and eating if necessary.
Communicate with nursing staff effectively and timely about patient‑care issues and conditions.
Receive and direct medical staff, personnel, patients, and visitors.
Qualifications
Education: High‑School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred). Experience cannot substitute for a degree.
Licenses/credentials: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; nursing assistant (LNA New Hampshire) preferred.
Experience: 1–2 years of healthcare experience required.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities: multitask and handle stressful crisis situations, medical terminology knowledge, typing and computer proficiency, interpersonal and written communication, ability to lift and transport patients using Safe Patient Handling Guidelines.
