Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Solar Technician based in Westchester or western Connecticut. The Senior Technician will perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance on commercial and utility-scale PV systems. Daily tasks include research and preparation, onsite, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and documenting work performed. The role will also require coordinating with team members to diagnose complex issues and providing training or mentorship to junior technicians.
Qualifications

Strong technical skills in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting, including knowledge of PV systems, inverters, and monitoring systems
Experience with inspections, testing procedures, and adhering to safety protocols in the solar or electrical industry
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and equipment specifications
Ability to conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical issues
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for renewable energy systems
Physical fitness to handle on-site work, including climbing ladders, working at heights, and performing outdoor tasks
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Mid-Atlantic region for site visits
Associate degree or equivalent experience in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy fields; NABCEP certification is preferred
