Position Overview
CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support clinical operations at a federal metropolitan detention center in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. You will work alongside registered nurses and physicians to deliver direct patient care, administer medications, perform clinical procedures, and support chronic disease management for an incarcerated population.
Key Responsibilities
Administer oral, topical, and injectable medications with accurate documentation and count verification
Perform vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, wound care, and specimen collection
Assist with sick call triage and patient intake screening procedures
Support chronic care clinics by collecting data, preparing patients, and documenting outcomes
Monitor patients for adverse medication reactions and report changes in condition to RN or physician
Maintain medication storage areas, check expiration dates, and support pharmacy inventory
Document all nursing interventions accurately in the BOP electronic health record
Adhere to BOP security protocols and infection control standards
Required Qualifications
Completion of accredited LPN/LVN program
Active, unrestricted LPN license in Puerto Rico or any U.S. state
Current BLS certification
Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience
U.S. citizenship required
Ability to pass federal background investigation
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency
Correctional healthcare or long-term care experience
IV therapy certification
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $50,000 - $67,000 annually
