Duties
Serves as a CYS Food and Nutrition Specialist with responsibility for the oversight and operation of the food program in Child Development Centers, Family Child Care Homes, School‑Age Programs, and Middle School and Teen Programs at Level 3 and above.
Acts as Subject Matter Expert in nutritional needs of children from birth to 18 years of age.
Conducts written observations and inspections in all CYS facilities, sites and homes (regardless of sponsorship) to meet USDA enrollment and Army requirements.
Recruits and hires qualified Food Service Operation personnel utilizing Army CYS Standard Position Descriptions.
Prepares separate healthy, balanced 4–6 week seasonal cycle menus for Child Development, SAS, and MST programs in accordance with USDA CACFP and Army policies, including portion sizes, meal patterns, and seconds requirements.

A health assessment is required.
Satisfactory performance, successful completion of training requirements, and demonstrated on‑the‑job competency.

Qualifications
Resumes must be two pages (or less).
Successful completion of a four‑year college or university degree with major coursework in dietetics, food nutrition, food service management, institutional management, or related science.
At least twelve (12) months of demonstrated work experience directly related to food operation, preferably with children and youth, equal in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.
Demonstrated program administration experience.
Ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English.
Education
Proof of education is required at the time of application.
