About The Role
The Medical Assistant/Patient Service Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of healthcare facilities by providing both clinical and administrative support. Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical training.

Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred but not mandatory.

Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.

Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working in a healthcare setting as a Medical Assistant or Patient Service Specialist.

Certification in CPR and First Aid.

Familiarity with medical billing and coding practices.

Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish or other commonly spoken languages in the United States.

Experience with insurance verification and claims processing.

Responsibilities

Greet and check in patients, verifying personal and insurance information accurately.

Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and assisting with clinical procedures as directed by healthcare providers.

Schedule patient appointments, manage calendars, and coordinate referrals and follow-ups.

Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) with patient information, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Answer patient inquiries via phone or in person, providing information about services, procedures, and billing.

Assist with billing and coding processes, including collecting co-pays and processing insurance claims.

Ensure examination rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patient use.

Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to optimize patient flow and clinic efficiency.
