Position Summary
As a therapist for our El Monte outpatient you will provide professional mental health services to a variety of patients. This role involves delivering exceptional care to clients through individual and group therapy sessions, creating personalized treatment plans and fostering a supportive environment for mental health healing and growth.
Essential Responsibilities
Client Care and Psychotherapy
Provide intensive individual psychotherapy to clients.
Lead group psychotherapy sessions, developing topics based on client needs and evidence-based practices.
Manage and deliver up to 25 client‑facing service hours per week, with up to 15 hours allocated for administrative and non‑billable duties.
Responsible for the therapeutic care of clients from admission through discharge.
Complete suicide risk assessments and Crisis Safety Plans for all at‑risk teen and adult clients.
May be expected to support additional programs or tracks, either remotely or at locations within driving distance.
Treatment Planning and Collaboration
Participate weekly in clinical meetings to assist in treatment planning and goal setting.
Create and update individualized weekly treatment plans and ensure all documentation deadlines are met.
Collaborate with other counselors to coordinate care, manage cases, and address client concerns.
Environment and Team Support
Facilitate connection, communication, and conflict resolution among staff and clients to maintain a safe and supportive recovery environment.
Demonstrate and model healthy emotional and physical boundaries for both staff and clients.
Assist in the training and mentorship of other Therapists.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Registered Therapist status (AMFT, ACSW, APCC, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or equivalent).
Hold a Master's degree.
A minimum of 1 year’s clinical experience, focusing on adolescent and adult mental health.
Required Skills/Abilities
Demonstrated skill in planning and leading psychotherapy groups.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to the needs of diverse clients and staff.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
Ability to diagnose behavioral health problems and disorders and develop treatment plan based on a completed assessment.
Knowledge of diagnostic impressions or criteria.
Conduct ongoing assessments of patient progress.
Involve and advise family members when appropriate.
Knowledge of individual and group therapy techniques.
Ability to demonstrate clinical skills of empathy, joining, observation and assessment.
Pay
Associate pay range is between $30-$38 per hour depending on experience, certifications, and hours accumulated. Licensed pay is $55 per hour.
Schedule
The schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12‑8:30 pm (on‑site) with a clinical meeting every Tuesday from 12‑1 pm (can be joined virtually).
