Overview
The Formulation Sciences Program and laboratory of Dr. Brooke Bernhardt at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is recruiting a motivated postdoctoral researcher. The post‑doc will be part of a new program in Formulation Sciences which aims to develop and translate pediatric‑suitable dosage forms for clinical care and research. We are a translational research program that aims to have direct impact on patient care and clinical trials. Our program leverages 3D printing (primarily semi‑solid extrusion) as the mechanism for reformulating existing pharmaceuticals – both active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished dosage forms – into novel dosage forms.
Responsibilities
Develop and translate pediatric‑suitable dosage forms using 3D printing and formulation development.
Reformulate existing pharmaceuticals – both active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished dosage forms – into novel dosage forms.
Conduct in‑process and post‑production testing of finished dosage forms according to United States Pharmacopoeia guidance.
Qualifications
Earned or expected to earn a PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Pharmaceutical Sciences, Textile Engineering, Chemical Engineering).
Strong skills in formulation sciences/clinical pharmaceutics.
Project management and scientific writing experience.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
Experience with 3D printing and clinical pharmaceutics/formulation development.
