Position Summary
Attorney Supervisor – Telework (Hybrid). Permanent, Full Time. Work Location: Sacramento County.

Attorney Supervisor (ATTORNEY SUPERVISOR). Salary: $12,590.00 - $16,900.00 A.
Responsibilities
Supervise, direct, and evaluate the workload of subordinate attorneys and paralegals, acting in a lead capacity in the Assistant Chief Counsel’s absence.
Develop strategies and best practices for the most complex assignments within the Information, Personnel & Audits (IPA) Bureau.
Carry a caseload of the most complex employment and administrative law cases, including personnel actions, discrimination, whistleblower and conflict‑of‑interest matters.
Represent the Department before the State Personnel Board, Office of Administrative Hearings, and other administrative bodies.
Review pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents prepared by subordinate attorneys.
Qualifications
Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated with strong interpersonal communication and analytical abilities.
Expert in independent house counsel or governmental representation in employment matters, including personnel actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation prevention, whistleblower complaints, criminal background reviews, and conflict‑of‑interest.
Ability to gain trust and collaborate effectively with management and staff at all levels.
Experience supervising or mentoring legal staff.
Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to convey complex and sensitive issues to high‑level management.
Special Requirements
A background investigation clearance is required before hiring.
