Registered Dental Hygienist

Key Responsibilities
Perform hygiene clinical procedures, including oral prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, sealants, fluoride, oral cancer screenings and x-rays.
Educate patients on the importance of oral hygiene, as well as instructions and demonstrations of effective oral hygiene methods.
Communicate with the doctor about potential restorative or periodontal needs.
Obtain and review dental history and records from patients and ensure health history is updated for all returning patients.
Qualifications
Degree or certificate in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program and a valid state license.
X-Ray/Radiology Certification where state regulations specify.
Local Anesthesia/Nitrous Oxide certification where state regulations specify.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This is a clinical working environment where potential exposure to hazardous waste and blood‑borne pathogens is possible. The position requires prolonged periods of standing, sitting, leaning, and bending up to eight hours a day, carrying, transporting, and using tools and equipment. The candidate must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
