RN Clinical Supervisor - Operating Room

First new full‑service hospital in Washington, DC, providing comprehensive acute and outpatient care, including trauma, emergency, maternal, pediatric, and surgical services.

Job Responsibilities

Provide real‑time operational leadership for assigned shift, ensuring safe staffing, patient throughput, and effective resource utilization.

Oversee clinical practice to ensure compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate patient flow, admissions, discharges, and transfers to optimize capacity and patient experience.

Serve as a clinical resource and support staff in complex patient care situations.

Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant environment of care.

Provide immediate coaching, feedback, and performance support to staff.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care.

Lead and/or participate in performance improvement initiatives and quality projects.

Monitor and address patient safety concerns, incidents, and risk events.

Support employee engagement initiatives, including shared governance and professional development.

Ensure accurate documentation and effective communication across shifts.

Qualifications

DC RN License required.

BLS certification required.

Minimum 3–5 years of acute care nursing experience in an operating room setting.

Prior leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Team Lead, or Supervisor) strongly preferred.

Experience in high‑acuity or fast‑paced environments preferred.
