Responsibilities
The Assistant Laboratory 3 is responsible for accurate and timely receiving, processing, and labeling of laboratory specimens, and for appropriate handling or disbursement of laboratory data and patient results. Supports personnel, acute‑care and outpatient caregivers, vendors, consultants, and other Laboratory Services staff in performing their duties.
Required Qualifications
2 years college education. Coursework in biological sciences, anatomy, and medical terminology is preferred.
Pre‑existing experience with moderately complex testing.
3 years of healthcare or related field experience, including phlebotomy‑related experience.
Demonstrated outstanding Service Excellence experience.
Clerical or client services experience.
Ability to perform phlebotomy in float pool and some ministries.
Experience with state and federal regulatory compliance, including CMS, CAP, TJC, CLIA, EMTALA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
Preferred Qualifications
Phlebotomy program with 1 year of related experience.
Certification from a Clinical Laboratory Assistant Program.
3 years of related experience.
Certification in Phlebotomy, medical assisting, research, or clinical laboratory upon hire.
Industry experience in a high volume, acute care setting.
2 years of experience in specimen collection, specimen preparation, equipment operation, pneumatic tube systems, and other laboratory equipment.

Pay Range
$23.81 - $36.44 per hour. This base range may be adjusted based on job experience and other factors. Additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
