Summary
The Interpreter serves as a frontline provider of Spanish interpretation and translation services for patients and families with limited English proficiency across Children’s of Alabama. You support communication during scheduled, unscheduled, and urgent encounters. You act as the voice for both caregivers and staff while remaining impartial and objective. You follow all Language Services policies and procedures.

Performance and progress are monitored by the Language Services Director and Language Services Coordinator.

High School Diploma Graduate or Equivalent

1 Year job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Interpreter
The Language Services Department ensures that patients and families with limited English proficiency or who are Deaf or hard of hearing receive clear, compassionate, and equitable communication throughout their care experience. The team provides qualified medical interpreters in person, by phone, and via video, as well as written translation of vital documents. In collaboration with clinical and support teams, Language Services helps meet regulatory standards, supports culturally responsive care, and works to reduce language barriers that can impact health outcomes.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8-430pm, Day Shift, 8-Hour Shifts
