Position Summary
Benco's Design team provides schematic plans, equipment plans, and construction details for dental practices nationwide. The Drafter will work as part of a collaborative design team, providing drafting support for as‑built drawings, X‑ray shielding plans, and dental construction documents, including detailed dental equipment plans and construction details for plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. This position will also maintain the department's library of dental equipment symbols and details by coordinating with manufacturers, sourcing AutoCAD blocks and Revit families, and creating new ones as needed based on manufacturer specifications.
Skills and Attributes
Strong AutoCAD and MS Office knowledge and experience

Basic knowledge of building codes
Basic understanding of construction methods and detailing

Complies with all policies and standards to support efficient operations of the department and company
Responsibilities
Convert existing plans, which may be scanned or hand‑drawn, into AutoCAD/Revit format
Prepare dental construction documents including equipment plans, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry details
Prepare shielding plans for imaging equipment
Participate in peer review process for quality assurance
Stay up‑to‑date on dental equipment lines
Maintain library of technical drawing symbols for dental equipment, creating new AutoCAD blocks and Revit & TwinMotion families as needed
Assist with software implementation initiatives, including the development and maintenance of team standards
Maintain openness to feedback, coaching and guidance on as‑built plans, dental construction documents, drafting standards, and equipment knowledge; demonstrate application of feedback
Requirements
Associate's Degree in Architectural Drafting or Technical Drafting, Preferred
1–3 years experience in the architecture or design field, Required
Medium proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office
Medium proficiency in Revit
Medium proficiency in basic knowledge of building codes
Medium proficiency in basic understanding of construction methods and detailing
