Responsibilities
The cutter is responsible for ensuring the specifications of a job that needs cutting are understood and followed by reading the job jacket and reviewing the printed work. The position passes a high-quality product that meets quality standards to the next workstation. The cutter may also be responsible for other duties as assigned.
Take printed stock and cut to the proper dimensions as called for on the production order.
Operate large cutting machines to make detailed custom cuts for various types of printed stock.
Read work order and verify all fabrication that needs to be accomplished before cutting is completed.
Cut in accordance with priorities set by supervisor.
Report any issues or problems relating to signage to be cut to management.
Maintain all safety and cleanliness standards.
Utilize forklift as needed.
Have experience with cutting and router machines.
The digital fabrication/lamination clerk assists with the completion of a variety of operational tasks of the department. Digital fabricators have a thorough understanding of the different media and ink types, how they interact with lamination, and all the properties and applications of all substrates used. They are responsible for the fabrication of jobs that are processed through the digital department, including but not limited to application of lamination, cutting and trimming of digitally produced signage. The clerk is also responsible for cleaning, maintenance, and safe and proper use of the laminators and cutters.
Duties and Responsibilities
Safe use of X‑acto knives and proper use of the laminator are essential.
Understand how to complete print jobs according to specifications on the production order.
Make suggestions that may enhance cost, quality, efficiency, and delivery of products from the department.
Proof all files adequately according to the established procedures to ensure quality output.
Log all time and materials used in the completion of the various tasks associated with digital print.
Maintain and use cutters, laminators, printers according to established procedures and guidelines.
Ensure that deadlines on production are met.
Basic Qualifications
Ability to speak, read and write English.
Available for weekend work schedules and overtime.
Required to lift up to a minimum of 50 lbs.
Required to follow safety instructions and adhere to safety procedures.
Printing experience helpful, but not required.
