Job Summary
CAMFS is currently hiring a

Medium Duty Automotive Technician

to join our recently acquired company,

Corcoran Fleet Services . The technician will perform preventative maintenance inspections, light and follow‑up repairs, diagnostics, licensed DOT inspections, and other duties at customer locations. The role requires learning advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques, complying with company policies, and achieving high‑level performance metrics.

Duties

Always follow and comply with safe operating practices and procedures.

Travel to and perform work at customer locations, usually outside.

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light and medium vehicles in the field.

Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment.

Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, lifts, and jacks.

Make minor adjustments and repairs on various types of customer vehicles, trucks, and equipment—including electrical, brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, engines (gas only), transmissions (manual and automatic), and more.

Diagnose, adjust, and repair various vehicle systems—including electrical, braking, cooling, air conditioning, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, and more.

Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using scanners and pressure gauges.

Identify problems, determine appropriate solutions, and generate alternatives.

Determine parts needed, order them, and pick them up for installation.

Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).

Document work and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (“RO”) via company cellphone and on paper.

Accurately complete DOT forms and all other required documentation.

Maintain a clean, safe work environment and assist in cleanup at the end of each day.

Apply knowledge acquired through training or on‑the‑job experience.

Assist support team in assessing customer needs, providing information, and resolving problems.

Manage concurrent tasks and prioritize work activities and time allocations.

Act with integrity, honesty, keep commitments, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to ethical standards.

Maintain high productivity and work within or close to most standard repair times.

Communicate with support team to obtain approvals for repair estimates, purchase order numbers, and discuss RO findings notes.

Participate in all company‑required safety training.

Maintain assigned service vehicle, conduct safety checks and daily pre/post trip inspections.

Adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for job duties.

Minimum of one year of experience as an automotive technician on light/medium vehicle repair or equivalent education/certification/skill/experience.

Two years of equivalent experience in a similar technician role.

Participate in and complete all company‑required training.

Skills & Abilities

Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods and perform moderately heavy labor.

Ability to maintain physical exertion over long periods without fatigue, including repetitive tasks.

Accurately judge distance between objects.

Use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
