Job Description
Be an Advocate, a Care Taker, a Friend to Patients. Nurse Technician – Float Pool – Part‑time – Nights. At New York‑Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist, certified nurse technicians thrive at the bedside as invaluable care providers. Together, we serve as critical points of contact for patients and their families, partnering with Registered Nurses and others. Responsibilities include drawing blood, monitoring vitals such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration, delivering meals, ensuring safe transport, and providing comfort and hospitality to patients.
Responsibilities
Provide compassionate care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration, and blood pressure. Float to all units in the hospital, including Med‑Surg, Critical Care, Psychiatry, Emergency Department, or other units as needed.
Part‑time Details
This is a part‑time position (five shifts biweekly) on nights from 11:45 PM to 7:45 AM. Weekends and holidays are required.
Preferred Criteria
Minimum one‑year experience as a Nurse Technician, Patient Care Technician, or Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting.
Required Criteria
High school diploma, GED, or relevant work experience.
Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Technician/Patient Care Technician Program, Nursing Assistant, EKG, and Phlebotomy Program, or Medical Assistant Program.
Valid certificate as a Nurse Technician, Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, EKG, Phlebotomy, or Medical Assistant.
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Salary
$29.68–$32.43 per hour.
