Position Summary
The Registered Nurse Supervisor is a key nursing leader responsible for overseeing clinical operations during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. This role provides leadership support, clinical expertise, and operational coordination to ensure high-quality patient care, effective staff performance, and efficient patient flow during off-shift hours.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and ensure appropriate short- and long-term nursing staff scheduling in accordance with established guidelines and staffing needs.
Provide leadership and support in emergency medical situations, including assessment, intervention, and coordination of transportation or external resources as needed.
Serve as a clinical resource to nursing staff by offering guidance in problem-solving, patient assessments, specialized procedures, and skill development.
Coordinate with nursing units and the admissions department to facilitate timely and efficient resident admissions, including obtaining necessary evaluations.
Support staff development initiatives by promoting and participating in scheduled in-service education and training programs.
Maintain continuity of care by communicating resident status updates with hospital supervisory staff and nursing administration.
Oversee meal service operations (MDR), ensuring a safe and positive dining experience while monitoring accurate and timely completion of required documentation.
Lead and support Quality Assurance (QA) activities within the Nursing Department, including conducting audits, analyzing findings, and implementing corrective actions.
Required Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
Prior leadership or supervisory experience
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Pay Rate
Shift: Night (4x9 Hours) 19:00–07:00
Contract Length: 13 weeks
