St George Hospital is seeking an experienced and dynamic team leader pharmacist for a part-time permanent position. In this leadership role, you will be at the forefront of providing specialised pharmacy services.

As a Team Leader Pharmacist, you will lead the clinical pharmacy services in your designated practice area, managing and mentoring pharmacists, technicians, and support staff. You will coordinate and oversee the delivery of clinical services, ensuring adherence to best practice, ethical standards, and legislative requirements. Your role will also include contributing to medication safety, quality improvement initiatives, research, and the development of pharmacy practices, while supporting the educational needs of staff. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that pharmacy services operate efficiently and that patients receive timely, high-quality pharmaceutical care.

The Team Leader Pharmacist, Clinical Services, is a leadership and clinical role.

The purpose of the role is to lead and coordinate a team delivering comprehensive pharmacy services across St George Hospital and affiliated services for the defined practice area of Clinical Services.

The role will work collaboratively at both the site/service level and across the district to maintain leadership and efficient performance of the provision of pharmacy services.

All Team Leader Pharmacist roles are integral members of the St George Hospital pharmacy leadership team to provide strategic, clinical and operational objectives for the pharmacy service. The position will have joint responsibility with other Team Leader and Lead Pharmacist positions, to maintain leadership, management and continuity of service provision of the pharmacy service across all operational hours.

Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with post registration clinical or management/leadership qualifications or equivalent skills/experience.

Describe a time when you led or coordinated a quality improvement initiative across hospital. What was the outcome, and how did you engage multidisciplinary teams to support implementation and sustain change?

Can you give an example of how you applied new knowledge or guidance to improve medication use or patient outcomes?
