Position Summary
The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology at UNC and the North Carolina Children’s Hospital seeks to fill a full‑time Open Rank appointment to advance global research efforts in determining intrinsic and environmental factors that impact the health of the developing lungs in children worldwide, applying investigative skills, tools, and technologies to improve diagnostics and treatment of pediatric respiratory diseases, especially in children from low‑ and middle‑income nations.

Research links and collaborations with the Marsico Lung Institute, Gillings School of Global Public Health, and Institute for Global Health and Infectious Disease, as well as collaborations with investigators outside of UNC will be strongly encouraged and supported.

The ideal candidate will have experience in international lung health initiatives, with internal or external funding by the employment start date, and will actively mentor pediatric pulmonology and other clinical or research fellows.

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
MD or MD/PhD trained and American Board of Pediatrics‑eligible or certified in Pediatric Pulmonology.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
Direct experience in pediatric pulmonary research and a publication track record in international pulmonary health.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Proven ability to analyze and integrate information from diverse disciplines and a demonstrated ability to develop and advance new diagnostic and therapeutic concepts.
