Valve Services Machinist

Primary Purpose Of Position
This position is responsible for supporting the nuclear fleet for all aspects of mechanical valve repairs. The team will focus on specialty skills for in-body valve repairs and additional field machining. The Corporate Valve Services team supports a culture of continuous improvement by participating in training, reinforcing standards, reporting, and mitigating unsafe or undesirable conditions, and utilizing the corrective action program. Position requires ability to work on cross-functional teams on major projects while adhering to the conduct of maintenance and established maintenance standards and practices.

Will be required to support all sites in their region and may require up to 60% travel.

Key Responsibilities

Perform in-valve inspection and mechanical repairs, including seat lapping, and machining in accordance with procedures and standards.

Provide technical support to plant operations, maintenance staff and engineering to the level of training received.

Use, review and recommend revisions to procedures, prints, technical manuals and other documents as required to the level of training received.

Minimum Qualifications

4 years of mechanical experience in an industrial setting, or certified journeyperson or equivalent experience in a related field

Receive a passing score on the MASS test

Preferred Qualifications

Perform precision machining operations in the field on equipment too large or uneconomical to bring to the Machine Shop, using boring bars, tooling components, milling machines and drilling machines

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Ability to travel to various locations

2-years related mechanical military experience
