Job Summary and Responsibilities

Responsibilities
Assessment: Conduct admission and ongoing assessment of patient’s condition, provide nursing care to meet physical, psychological and spiritual needs, and notify doctors of changes requiring attention.
Planning: Design, direct, evaluate and document the plan of care, patient/family teaching, and transition of care plan to include safe appropriate level of care discharge.
Implementation: Prepare patients physically, psychologically, and spiritually for treatments, surgeries and diagnostic studies to reduce anxiety; report significant changes to Charge Nurse/Team Leader or physician; implement safety protocols and medication safety practices.
Evaluation: Reassess patients at appropriate intervals following interventions, notify physicians as necessary to modify interventions, adjust nursing care to meet emerging needs.
Report Skills: Provide accurate and comprehensive report to the overnight shift through bedside shift report, ensuring continuity of care.
Environment & Patient Safety: Maintain patient and work environment for safety, promptly remove used and soiled equipment, linen, etc., and report safety concerns immediately.
Job Requirements
Associate’s degree in Nursing or Diploma; at least one year of RN experience, upon hire.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) within 2 years of hire, or current employees grandfathered before July 2020.
Demonstrated competence in Registered Nurse I performance expectations or meets experience requirements.
Registered Nurse license in Texas, upon hire.
Basic Life Support – CPR, within 14 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s of Nursing degree upon hire.
