Job Description
The Production Associate supports a high-volume manufacturing facility by operating equipment, monitoring production processes, and performing visual quality inspections. You will work in various departments, receive cross-training across multiple production areas, and contribute directly to the manufacturing of glass products. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, learning new skills, and growing within a structured production environment.
Responsibilities
Operate production and manufacturing machines safely and efficiently according to established procedures.
Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to production standards.
Perform visual quality inspections on glass products to identify defects and ensure they meet specifications.
Work on general production and assembly lines, including handling, assembling, and packaging products.
Use basic hand tools and measuring tools, such as tape measures, to support fabrication and assembly tasks.
Support various departments within the plant, including areas such as fabrication, float, and lines that run windshields, side windows, and sunroofs, as assigned.
Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Assist with packaging and preparing finished products for shipment or further processing.
Adapt to different tasks and departments as part of cross‑training to support changing production needs.
Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors to meet production goals and timelines.
Essential Skills
High School Diploma or GED required.
At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.
Mechanical aptitude, including the ability to use basic hand tools.
Experience in general production, general labor, or assembly in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to operate manufacturing machines and follow standard operating procedures.
Capability to perform visual inspections and identify quality issues.
Willingness and ability to work different shifts as needed, including potential movement between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

Work Environment
This role is based in an automotive glass manufacturing facility with a structured, union‑represented environment. The plant includes multiple departments, such as fabrication, float, and specialized lines running windshields, side windows, and sunroofs. Work is performed on the production floor around industrial machinery, requiring adherence to safety procedures and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment. The facility operates multiple shifts, including 8‑hour shifts in fabrication and 12‑hour shifts in the float department. Current hiring focuses on 1st shift (6:00 AM–2:30 PM), with training provided on 1st shift; however, flexibility to work 2nd shift (2:00 PM–10:30 PM) and 3rd shift (10:00 PM–6:30 AM) is important, as shift assignments can change based on union rules and production needs. The environment is fast‑paced, hands‑on, and team‑oriented, with work centered on machine operation, assembly, inspection, and packaging of glass products.

The pay range for this position is $19.14 - $19.14/hr.
