Responsibilities
Safely Set up and operate machines that include Manual and CNC Lathes, Manual & CNC Mills.
Measure work piece dimensions and determine accuracy of machine operation — perform first piece, in-process, and last piece inspections on parts using inspection tools and gauges (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, Vernier & digital).
Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines and dies and daily cleaning.
Work with different metals such as Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Steel, Brass, Copper, Titanium.
Set up and adjust machine controls to produce parts to customer specifications, utilizing knowledge of machine operation.
Read blueprints, work orders and job folders to understand work piece specifications, tooling and material requirements.
Observe machine operations to detect any problems; make any necessary adjustments to correct problems.
Understand basic geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
