Key Job Responsibilities

Diagnostics: Using computerized diagnostic equipment to identify malfunctions in engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and tire rotations.
Repair: Replacing or repairing worn components like brake pads, sensors, and wheel bearings.
Testing: Conducting test drives and using testing equipment to ensure vehicles work properly.
Customer Service: Explaining repairs and vehicle issues to customers in an understandable way.
Documentation: Documenting service work, parts used, and hours worked.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Technical Knowledge: Understanding of traditional mechanical systems and, increasingly, electric/hybrid vehicle components.
Diagnostic Skills: Ability to use tools like OBD-II scanners, multimeters, and other specialized diagnostic devices.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in tight spaces.
Education/Experience: Often requires 3+ years of experience, a high school diploma, and relevant automotive technology training.
Certification: ASE certification is often preferred but not mandatory.
