
Process Technician

Role
Responsible for working with Production Shift Leader and shift Process Technicians to resolve ongoing problems, supporting setup in bringing lines into production, working with corporate engineers on new product development and R&D trial requests, and working with process team leader to maintain accurate and up to date process sheets.
Key Job Requirements
Coverage for existing shift process technicians on an as needed basis
Primary focus is on developing new Operators (levels 1-3) through pay for skills, focused training, and assessments.
Parallel function to support OEE by utilizing Operators and growing through the breakdowns and learning opportunities.
This is an on the shop floor position- desk work should be minimal (up to 60 minutes unless covering for shift PT standard work).
SPA for Operator onboarding, demo skills, assessments, and yearly training.
Maintain schedules for every Operator to build upon baseline plant overall level of OP skills.
Lead efforts on the production floor to develop improved process capabilities
Assist/lead plant programs to improve process capabilities for existing jobs
Provide process input to new product development teams; lead plant start-ups of these jobs and develop stable process conditions.
Implement programs to improve overall product quality
Work with material suppliers on understanding material behavior in the thermoforming process
Assist in leading the start-up of new equipment with process support
Develop and conduct training programs for line operators and process technicians.
Maintain and upkeep process definition sheets and tracking system
Maintain high degree of technical proficiency acquired through experience and on-the-job training versus prolonged courses or specialized instruction.
Ability to work on equipment with basic hand tools
Operator Specialist 1 level or higher
Communication/Teamwork
Ability to communicate effectively and work closely and productively as part of a cross-functional team.
Ability to create and/or exhibit an atmosphere of openness, honesty, trust, and teamwork.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize as needed without loss of effectiveness and composure.

Technical Knowledge

Demonstrates a fundamental understanding of standard manufacturing business processes.
Demonstrates an advanced comprehensive knowledge of entire process from concept to commercialization.
Operate Equipment
Ability to operate thermoforming equipment and peripherals.
Maintain Records
Ability to accurately record and maintain information as required.
