Role Overview:
Responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems in commercial and industrial buildings. This role ensures fire protection systems function properly and comply with fire safety codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble, install, and modify fire sprinkler systems, including pipes, fittings, and valves, according to blueprints and building specifications
Inspect, test, and repair sprinkler systems to ensure they meet safety and operational standards
Cut, thread, groove, and weld pipes to ensure proper system connections
Ensure all work meets NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) codes, OSHA safety standards, and local fire regulations
Conduct pressure tests and flow tests to verify system functionality
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
Work with contractors, project managers, and other tradespeople to complete installations efficiently
Maintain records of work performed, including inspection reports and service logs
Required Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or GED
Basic knowledge of plumbing, construction, or fire protection systems is a plus
Competencies:
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Time management and ability to meet deadlines
Commitment to safety and compliance
Working Conditions:
Indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to high and low temperatures
Exposure to noise and dust
Must be able to bend, climb, and work in confined spaces.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, or working in awkward positions.
