Summary Of Position

Our whole‑person virtual care platform empowers all people everywhere to live their healthiest lives by transforming the healthcare experience, from acute and primary care to chronic care, mental health, and specialty care. The Expert Coach is responsible for providing support for whole‑person 1:1 coaching, driving behavior changes that positively impact clinical outcomes and overall health status.
Responsibilities
Empower members to be able to effectively self‑manage their own chronic condition.
Assess and identify individual member’s needs such as skills, knowledge, barriers, and motivation to educate/coach in a way that drives behavior change and improves clinical outcomes and overall health status.
Use a coaching approach congruent with Motivational Interviewing for a member‑centered approach.
Attend mandated meetings and complete required training online and/or in person.
Follow scheduling best practices to meet appropriate coaching utilization and member needs.
Actively participate in process improvement with a positive, solution‑focused mindset.
Mentor less experienced coaches through formal or informal feedback and support.
Support content development (education handouts, videos, podcasts, client‑facing presentations) as requested.
Stay updated on clinical best practices for whole‑person coaching and share expertise across the team and company.
Allocate up to 30% of time to liaison, project, or cross‑functional responsibilities as needed and approved by direct manager/lead.

Required Qualifications
Must possess and maintain certification as a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC‑HWC).
Assume responsibility for professional development and continuing education to maintain knowledge, skills, and professional certification.
Maintain required CEUs to sustain NBC‑HWC certification.
Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher.
Apply evidence‑based principles to enhance coaching practice.
Review research findings for application to practice.
Incorporate the ADCES 7 DSME/T education model into practice, focusing on behaviors essential for improving health and quality of life for members with diabetes.
Have strong knowledge of the science and latest treatment options for managing diabetes.
Have at least 3 years of professional experience in the healthcare field.
Provide quality member education and coaching.
Empower members to effectively self‑manage their own chronic condition.
Assess and identify individual member’s needs to drive behavior change and improve clinical outcomes and health status.
Convey enthusiasm and positive energy during member interactions.
Use a member‑centered approach consistent with Motivational Interviewing.
Also Desirable
Advanced degree in the health‑related fields of Behavior, Nutrition, or Exercise.
Bilingual Spanish/English (desirable but not required).
Benefits and Compensation
Base salary range:
$30‑34 hourly . In addition to a base salary, this position may be eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2026.
During the first year of service, you will accrue 5.84 hours of PTO for each bi‑weekly pay period and receive 80 hours of Paid Sick, Safe, and Caregiver Leave annually. This applies to full‑time positions only.
Teladoc Health will not sponsor or transfer employment work visas for this position. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
